iraq

great site by a university professor who translates the Iraqi newspapers and media journals into english, which provide a refreshingly different perspective on the war and reconstruction of Iraq.

Very interesting article today on a peace plea written by a cabinet minister.  The proposal, not surprisingly, is hushed in US media even though it "was widely hailed by politicians and by journalists and analysts in Britain."

The advent of my tabulas account marks my return to online blogging.  This could be bad.  I am already addicted to Denver Broncos' news and message boards - see http://www.denverpost.com/broncos or http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/nfl/ or better yet, http://denverbroncos.com/ - and life in the online world is just too abstract, too nebulous for me.

But I admit that it is one form of modern communication that can't be avoided forever - albiet grudgingly.  As long as people still want to talk to me in person, it's all good!

This world of Tab seems not only more tempered but also more sophisticated than the likes of myspace and xanga. Don't those websites just engender the need for popularity from which we graduated when we got to college? I like the anonymity and appreciate the simplicity.

More than anything, I like supporting the innovative work of my friends and give major props to the creator of this web journal.  So here's to Tabulas and here's to me finally creating an account!

Cheers...
